Finally, President Obama is about to step up for America on the issue of Climate Change action.
In a speech set to begin at approximately 1:55pm ET, the President is expected to announce some major executive actions to a live audience at Georgetown University. These are all actions the President has the executive power to take without seeking the approval of Congress. Take that, climate change obstructionists!
These actions are reported to include carbon pollution limits for existing power plants, as well as standards for new fossil fuel power plants.
The President is also expected to announce new fuel efficiency standards and a big commitment of funds of up to $7 Billion in international aid to help offset the effects of climate change in developing countries.
